Mirco-Surfacing & Slurry Seal
Micro surfacing and slurry seals (also referred to as micropaving) are mixtures of asphalt emulsions, dense-graded aggregate, mineral filler and water that are applied as a thin overlay to an existing road surface to correct aging, wear and wheel path rutting.
Uses
Slurry seals are used as both a preventive and corrective maintenance course on an existing asphalt surface. The surface of a slurry-seal treatment is smoother than a chip seal treatment. The slurry-seal treatment is, therefore, more “surface friendly” than a chip-seal treatment in areas such as village and city streets as well as areas that need to have a black finished surface look.
