Vestal Asphalt Receives AASHTO Pavement Preservation Accreditation

Vestal Asphalt’s Quality Control laboratory received Pavement Preservation accreditation from the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), recognizing the lab’s competency in testing microsurfacing and slurry seal products.

The Vestal Asphalt lab has been accredited by AASHTO for it’s testing of emulsified asphalt, asphalt binder, soil, aggregate, and it’s quality control systems since 2000, but became the first lab in New York State to receive the Pavement Preservation Accreditation. To achieve this credential, the lab technicians performed a variety of test procedures prior to and during an on-site assessment by an AASHTO representative.

Per the AASHTO website, “in addition to being the largest accrediting body in the construction materials industry, the AASHTO Accreditation Program is also the most widely-accepted. AASHTO-accredited laboratories have proven their commitment to quality and can set themselves apart from their competitors.”

The AASHTO standards included in the Pavement Preservation accreditation are: TB-100, TB-106, TB-109, TB-113, TB-114, TB-139, TB-144, TB-147, D3910, D6372, D3910/D6372
